How to use Video Reverse

  1. Upload your video by dropping it or selecting from your device
  2. Use the slider to set start and end points for the section to reverse
  3. Choose whether to remove audio (recommended for reversed videos)
  4. Click "Reverse Video" to process
  5. Download the reversed video when complete

What reversing actually requires

Playing a video backwards cannot be streamed. The encoder has to decode the segment, hold the frames, and re-encode them in reverse order, which is why this is slower and more memory-hungry than trimming or re-encoding the same clip.

Because the whole selected range is held during processing, clip length is the setting that matters most. Selecting a few seconds with the range slider is dramatically faster than reversing a long video, and much less likely to exhaust memory on a phone.

Audio, and why removing it is the default

Reversed audio is rarely useful and roughly doubles the work, so the remove-audio option is enabled by default. Leaving it on produces a faster export and a smaller file.

Turn it off only when the reversed sound is the point — the effect is distinctive and deliberate, not something you want by accident.

Questions

Is there a length limit?
No hard limit, but reversing holds decoded frames in memory, so long or high-resolution clips can fail on constrained devices. Select a shorter range with the slider if processing stalls.
Does the video get re-encoded?
Yes, necessarily. Frame order cannot be changed without decoding and re-encoding, so expect a small generational quality loss.
